How to compare Quality Infrastructure between countries?

An initiative for open data and knowledge on metrology, standardisation, accreditation and related services

Open data on Quality Infrastructure

The Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) is a Mesopartner initiative that researches, compiles and disseminates open data on Quality Infrastructure — the international system of metrology, standardisation, accreditation and conformity assessment services that underpin confidence in trade and protect consumers and the environment. The GQII enables users to compare and benchmark the quality infrastructure of countries worldwide.

The GQII is a collaborative effort, made possible by the long-standing financial and substantive support of PTB and BMZ, data contributions from accreditation bodies around the world, and the expertise of our network of consultant colleagues. Since 2023, we are collaborating closely with UNIDO and the INetQI partners on the QI4SD Index, supporting the use of high-quality QI data in support of sustainable development.

GQII Open Data

The GQII follows the principle of open data. All information used in the index is drawn exclusively from publicly available sources provided by official quality infrastructure (QI) institutions. The data is organised by country or economy and structured by key indicators. We make all datasets available in Excel format, enabling users to verify the rankings and conduct their own analyses.
