Regional Economic Potential Analysis

mesopartner has developed a methodology for Regional Economic Potential Analysis that complements the participatory methods for stakeholder mobilisation and action planning. Regional Economic Potential Analysis involves three steps:
  • Quantitative Analysis (desktop research): Collecting and analysing information on the respective region. The result is a picture of the revealed competitive advantage of the region, highlighting the sectors with the strongest performance.
  • Qualitative Analysis (field research): Interviews with key informants. The result is a Radar Screen that summarises the strengths and weaknesses of the high potential sectors in the region, thus further narrowing down the number of sectors that have a strong potential for international competitiveness.
  • Reporting and discussing findings, defining recommendations for regional competitiveness initiatives.
