One of our standard tools is the Mesocard method: facilitating group discussions by having all the participants writing their ideas and statements on cards, rather than having the usual oral discussions, which too often are not effective. In our experience, this is a powerful tool -- for brainstorming as well as for group-based diagnosis exercises.
