Cluster Promotion

mesopartners have been involved in cluster development initiatives for more than ten years:
  • Ulrich Harmes-Liedtke was involved in the facilitation of the REKON Project, a cluster development initiative sponsored by the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in the late 1990s.
  • Jörg Meyer-Stamer has conducted research on clustering and cluster promotion both in Europe and in developing countries, and been involved in the facilitation of cluster initiatives in Brazil.
  • Christian Schoen has been involved in cluster-focused PACA Exercises in Indonesia and Viet Nam.
It is our experience that PACA and RALIS are excellent tools to launch or adjust cluster development initiatives. The Compass of Local Competitiveness is very effective in managing and monitoring cluster initiatives.
